My buddy Rev. Larry Tomczak from Sovereign Grace Ministries got caught with a rod in his hands.
Come one now. If this were really a big deal, this would be all over the news. Major networks would be all over this. It would make international headlines. And the law would actually do something to stop this. So, nothing to see here folks.
First of all there is no such thing as sexual abuse of children in houses of worship: we clergy call it business as usual. It's sort of part of our work. Let's call it "giving back to the community." People send their children to us, and nobody seems to mind. Keep 'em coming my flock.
"Sovereign Grace: More allege church hid sex abuse
A pastor known for promoting corporal punishment has been accused of physically abusing a woman for 25 years, beginning during her childhood.
The Rev. Larry Tomczak, an associate pastor at Bethel World Outreach Church in Davidson County near Brentwood, Tenn., was named in a Maryland lawsuit filed against leaders of Sovereign Grace Ministries, a denomination he helped found in the 1980s.
It alleges that Tomczak, who lives in Franklin, Tenn., and other church leaders covered up sexual abuse in the denomination and at a Christian school in Gaithersburg, Md., in the 1980s and 1990s.
The seven females and one male plaintiff are identified in the lawsuit with pseudonyms. Attorneys are seeking to build a class-action suit against Sovereign Grace Ministries, which has more than 80 congregations, including a few outside the U.S. Burke said Tuesday that more alleged victims have contacted her office."
